When Maria and Loic set about planning their Sri Lanka Destination Wedding, they had a clear vision: a beautiful mix of a traditional Catholic Ceremony followed by colourful Tamil customs and a stylish Western Reception with Eastern accents. Maria and Loic, who are based in Switzerland wanted to combine their respective heritages of Sri Lanka and France. To ensure their dream wedding was made into reality, they enlisted Happily Ever After, the Destination Wedding Specialist.
Their beautiful September Wedding took place at Paradise Road, The Villa in Bentota. In keeping with the Bride's heritage, the White themed Ceremony took place in the charming St Anne's Church, Beruwela, and the ethereal Bride, dressed in an exquisite Sari adorned by a thousand crystals was escorted down the aisle by her father. The look on the face of the handsome groom when he watched his bride approach was testimony to the strength of their love for one another.
Following the Ceremony, the couple held a traditional oil lamp lighting following Tamil customs at Paradise Road The Villa Bentota. In keeping with their wish to have a fun filled celebration together with family and friends, the day incorporated multiple forms of entertainment including traditional Kandyan Dancers, Bharanatyam Dancers, Photo Booths, fireworks and games on the beach. The wedding magic even included a real life magician!
The Reception was a dream of White, Burgundy and Gold with Chandeliers lighting up the romantic White draped marquee. The Reception dinner was a taste sensation of a Traditional Sri Lankan menu followed by desserts, soft cantered cakes and a delicious as beautiful Wedding Cake by Miss Whisk.
The dancing under the stars was accompanied by the expert beats of DJ Ricky and the celebration captured to perfection by the award winning photographer Geeshan Bandara and the talented videography team of Seeyak Seenu.
